Walt says: “We’ve had many kicks at the I-think-I-can with this song, but not yet got all that close to a definitive take. The arrangement used here is intended to feature some ravishing solo parts; however, including them proved impossible, as we did not record any. To put it another way, the band here exhibits a tightly-focused, minimalist sensibility, musically stark, free of all distracting extraneities, but thereby only more powerful, more unremittingly bleak and off-putting.”

The first phrase should be heard on the right; thereafter they more or less alternate.
